Canada's Allegations a "Wake-Up Call" for India: Pakistan

Islamabad: Amid escalating tensions between Canada and India, Pakistan has intervened, attributing the diplomatic dispute to Hindutva ideologies. Pakistan's interim PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, while addressing the Council on Foreign Relations in New York during UNGA 2023, connected Canada's accusations to the extreme right-wing ideology of Hindu nationalism.

The interim PM, during his speech, pointed out how Western countries have overlooked the "truth" behind New Delhi's far-right leadership. Furthermore, Pakistan has voiced its support for Canada regarding its charges against the Indian government.

"These proponents of Hindutva are gaining confidence to the extent that they are now expanding beyond their region," Pakistan PM Kakar declared in New York. He further stated that the "tragic murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian territory is indicative of this alarming trend".

"However, due to clear economic and strategic interests, many actors in Western capitals have chosen to disregard this fact and reality," the Pakistan PM added.

Canada's Accusations a "Reality Check" for India: Pak

Pakistan's foreign ministry has declared that India's alleged assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar is a "blatant breach of international law and the UN principle of state sovereignty".

Labeling the incident as "reckless and irresponsible", the Pakistan foreign ministry stated that this "act raises doubts about India's credibility as a trustworthy international partner and its aspirations for increased global responsibilities."

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zehra Baloch further stated that the incident demonstrates that "India's network of extra-territorial killings has now become international."

In addition to Canada's charges against India, Pakistan claimed that Islamabad has also been a target of RAW (Research and Analysis Wing of the Indian government).

Canada has blamed the Indian government for the murder of Canadian Sikh citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The Indian government labels Nijjar as a terrorist involved in Khalistani and anti-India activities. The Indian government has also dismissed Ottawa's accusations as "ridiculous and motivated.
