YouTube announces new video creation apps, AI tools for creators

At the “Made on YouTube” event, YouTube unveiled a collection of AI-powered tools for creators, including a new mobile application named “YouTube Create”.

The company also introduced “Dream Screen”, an experimental AI tool that enables creators to generate Shorts videos and backgrounds from prompts.

In addition to this, YouTube launched the “YouTube Create” mobile app, which provides creators with production tools to edit their Shorts, longer videos, or both. The app includes features such as precision editing and trimming, automatic captioning, voiceover capabilities, and access to a library of filters, effects, transitions, and royalty-free music with beat-matching technology.

Furthermore, YouTube revealed “Aloud”, an AI-driven dubbing tool on the platform that enhances audience reach in languages other than the creator’s primary language.

Neal Mohan, YouTube’s CEO, stated that these new updates aim to simplify complex tasks and make impossible dreams achievable for creators and artists.

This announcement follows Google’s recent declaration of increased integration of its Bard AI chatbot in Gmail, Maps, and YouTube. This move is seen as Google’s response to the challenge posed by similar technology operated by OpenAI and Microsoft.

Lyor Cohen, YouTube’s Global Head of Music, expressed that they view AI as a tool that can enhance and expedite artists’ creativity. He also mentioned their commitment to working with the creative community within their AI Music Incubator, which has now expanded globally.
